Pontiac Bancorp makes promotions at annual meeting

Pontiac Bancorp, Inc., experienced another year of strong financial performance in 2021, according to President and CEO Bill Kauffman, at its annual meeting.

The Pontiac Bancorp, Inc., parent company of Bank of Pontiac, meeting was held recently at Pontiac Township High School.

During his address, Kauffman reported to stockholders that “the bank experienced an exceptional year in 2021 with the addition of First Farmers State Bank and the continued benefits of the SBA Paycheck Protection Program.

“The acquisition of First Farmers State Bank played a large part in the growth that was experienced in 2021, as total assets increased to $964,026,248 and loans increased to $553,621,204. The bank and its staff are ready for whatever lies ahead as asset quality and capital levels remain strong.”

Kauffman also announced the promotion of Bank of Pontiac employees. Mark Donovan was promoted to president; John Marshall, executive vice president, Senior Trust Officer; Bob Meiner, executive vice president, Chief Operations Officer; Chris Clement, executive vice president, Chief Ag Services and Information Officer & Assistant Trust Officer; Michelle Schultz, senior vice president, Chief Financial Officer; Joe Conroy, senior vice president, Chief Lending Officer; Nicolle Albrecht, vice president, lending; Rhys Meiner, vice president, lending; Patty Densmore, assistant auditor; Mary Beth White, assistant vice president, lending; Daniel Corrigan, assistant vice president, lending; and Rebecca Lee, assistant vice president, lending.

The meeting marked the retirement of Chairman J. Collins Miller. John Marshall presented Miller with a framed Resolution of Appreciation. Miller served on the boards of Pontiac Bancorp and Bank of Pontiac. He has been director since 2003 and chairman since 2018. Marshall thanked Miller for sharing his knowledge over the years and for the strong commitment he has shown to the success of the bank.

In his address, Miller thanked the directors, stockholders, staff and customers for contributing to the success of Pontiac Bancorp, Inc. He commended the bank management team and staff, saying, “I would like to thank our senior executive team, management and staff for their outstanding efforts during, not only this year, but for all of the years I have had the privilege and honor to serve on this Board of Directors.

“I would also like to thank my fellow board members for their support. We’ve had a solid year, the conditions are favorable, and the bank is well-positioned to continue to prosper in the future. I look forward to the years ahead with confidence in the great staff that Bank of Pontiac has across all of the branches. Together, we are better.”

At the organizational meeting held after the meeting of stockholders, the election and re-election of directors and officers took place.
