Here are the Pontiac Township High School, college students who received academic honors

After a long school year of hard work, students now have the opportunity to relax before cracking the books in the fall.

In completing their school year, quite a few students at Pontiac Township High School, as well as students at the collegiate level, earned recognition for their efforts. The following is a listing of honor roll students from PTHS, as well as area college students receiving honors.

There are three levels of honors recognized at PTHS ranging from receiving a 3.000 grade point average to a perfect 4.000.

There were 76 students who received perfect 4.000 — straight A's — for the second semester. Colleges

Wisconsin-Stevens Point

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,000 undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages during the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.

William Weber, a sophomore from Flanagan, received Highest Honors.

Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 are given the highest honors designation. Personalized certificates of scholastic achievement are sent to those who earned highest honors distinction.

Southeast Missouri State

Weston Cottrell of Fairbury has been named to the Southeast Missouri State University Dean's List for academic achievement during the spring 2023 semester.

Students named to the list earned at least a 3.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, completed at least 12 hours of standard graded credit, achieved no grade below a B and received no failing grades in enrolled, credit/no credit or pass/fail courses.

Shenandoah University

Isabelle Schultz of Dwight is one of 943 students who earned a spot on the Dean's List at Shenandoah University for the Spring 2023 semester.

To qualify for the Dean's List, students enrolled in baccalaureate degree programs must complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Olivet Nazarene University

Nine students who attended Livingston County high schools were named to the Dean's List for the 2023 Spring semester at Olivet Nazarene University.

To qualify for inclusion on the Dean's List, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.

Named to the Dean's List were Cheyanne Bazzell of Fairbury; Rylie Bond of Dwight; Crystal Coffey of Piper City; Emilie Collins of Pontiac; Brayden Fuoss of Chatsworth; Connor Haab of Fairbury; McKenna Haab of Fairbury; Grace Mund of Odell and Hunter Trainor of Pontiac.

University of Alabama

Two area students received academic honors at the University of Alabama. An academic record of 3.5 or above is required to be named to the Dean's List. To be named to the President's List, a student must record a 4.0 (all A's).

The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Brianna Cook of Pontiac was named to the Dean's List.

Summer Huber of Strawn was named to the President's List.

Western Illinois University

Three area students were among the 1,024 who earned academic degrees or post-baccalaureate certificates after the Spring 2023 semester at Western Illinois University.

Michael J. Fitzsimmons of Pontiac graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement & Justice Administration.

Jacob A. Lauffenburger of El Paso graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Science.

Megan Marie Lackoff of Fairbury earned a Master of Music degree.

Oregon State University

Oregon State University will graduate more than 7,300 students during ceremonies Saturday, June 17 at Reser Stadium in Corvallis and Sunday, June 18 at OSU-Cascades in Bend. Among them will be a student from Pontiac.

Nathan Ramos of Pontiac will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
