POOL SWEEP: BHS brooms foes at busy home meet
Bartlesville High’s swimming team finished off a gauntlet of three-straight weeks of competitions by sweeping both Union and Ponca City high schools.
The Bartlesville Bruins outlasted Wesleyan Christian, 115-8; Union, 107-56; and Ponca City, 91-69) in boys competition. In the girls’ battles, Bartlesville defeated Wesleyan Christian, 140-8; Union, 134-36; and Ponca City, 127-34.
Bartlesville girls swept all three relay races (200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle).
A handful of Bartlesville swimmers won two individual championships each.
They included Cody Lay (boys, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle) ; Griffin Craig, boys, 200 individual medley; and 100 backstroke; and Calli Richards (girls, 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke).
