POOL WARRIORS: Bartlesville makes plenty of waves in sweeping swim meet visitors
Bartlesville High’s swimming made it a sparkling sweep Tuesday at the home tri-meet against Bixby and Owasso.
The Bartlesville boys hammered Owasso, 92-43, and outlasted Bixby, 83-65.
On the girls side, the Lady Bruins dominated — 120-48 against Owasso and 132-35 against Bixby.
The Bartlesville team — which is coached by Chad Englehart — is nearing the regionals and state meet.
Following is a closer look at some of Tuesday’s highlights. the distances were yards.
Bruins
Griffin Craig grabbed four championships on the night — 100 butterfly (:54.32), 100 freestyle (:49.), 200 freestyle relay (1:36.31) and 400 freestyle relay (3:30.65).
Craig dominated the butterfly in jaw-dropping style — the second place finisher came in 13 seconds behind.

Three other Bruins claimed individual titles — Jesse Espinal-Cruz (100 backstroke, 1:00.24), Ethan Peterson (200 individual medley, 2:15.53) and Jarrett Moore (100 breaststroke, 1:08.69).
Moore recorded a six-second bulge of victory.
The Bruins also swept all three relay races: 200 medley (Moore, Ethan Peterson, Espinal-Cruz, Om Ghonasgi), 200 freestyle relay (Luke Olsen, Moore, Ghonasgi, Craig) and 400 freestyle relay (Craig, Peterson, Espinal-Cruz and Olsen).
Lady Bruins
Bartlesville featured multiple individual event double winners — Lily Talbot (50 freestyle, :25.32; 100 butterfly, 1:03.45); and Aidan Howze (200 individual medley, 2:13.45; 100 breaststroke, 1:07.75).
Howze doused her competition in the 200 I.M., winning by a margin of nearly six seconds.

Lady Bruins that earned one individual championship each included: Regan Patzkowski (200 free, 2:09.35), Emma Howze (100 freestyle, :57.07) and Gabrielle Burke (500 freestyle, 5:45.6).
Bartlesville won the 200 medley relay (Talbot, Addison Williams, Aidan Howze, Amanda LaFrancois) and the 400 freestyle relay (Annabelle Droege, Morgan Moore, Calli Richards and Cara Moore).
