From pools to a water park, here's where to cool off in Williamson County

People need places to cool off especially with the triple-digit temperatures the Texas summer is already bringing. Cities in Williamson County have a variety of aquatic offerings, including a water park, splash pads and municipal pools, with a new one in Liberty Hill. The county also has a splash park.

Where can people cool off in Round Rock?

  • The Micki Krebsbach Pool, at 301 Deep Wood Drive, is open from 1 to 7 p.m. every day except Tuesdays. Water features include a pirate ship and a large slide. Admission is $4 for ages 17 and under and seniors ages 50 and up, and $5 for other adults.

  • The Lake Creek Pool is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and from 1 to 7 p.m. Fridays through Sundays at 800 Deerfoot Drive. It is closed on Mondays. Admission is $1 for ages 17 and under and seniors ages 50 and older, and $2 for other adults.

  • The Rock'N River Water Park is open from noon to 7 p.m. every day except Wednesdays at 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd. in Old Settlers Park. Admission is $12 for ages 17 and younger and seniors 50 and older, and $14 for other adults. The park has a lazy river, slides and 51 play features.

  • The indoor pool at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center, 1600 Gattis School Road, is open from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays, 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturdays and 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sundays. The walk-in fee is $5 per person.

  • The Prete Plaza Fountain is a free splash pad open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 221 Main St.

What does Cedar Park offer for those who want to splash around?

  • Buttercup Creek Pool is open from 1 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays at 411 Twin Oaks Trail. Admission is $1 for children ages 4-8 and for seniors ages 60 and older, $2 for ages 9-17 and $3 for other adults.

  • Elizabeth Milburn Pool is open from 1 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays at 1901 Sun Chase Blvd. Admission is $1 for children ages 4-8 and for seniors ages 60 and older, $2 for ages 9-17 and $3 for other adults. The pool includes a water slide and a water playground.

  • Veterans Memorial Pool is open from noon to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from noon to 6 p.m. Sundays at 2525 W. New Hope Drive. Admission is $2 for children ages 4-8 and seniors ages 60 and older, $4 for ages 9-17 and $5 for other adults. The pool has a water playground, slide and diving board.

  • A free splash pad is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at 3300 Brushy Creek Road.

Where can people take a dip in Georgetown?

Admission for all municipal pools is $2 for ages 4-18 and for seniors ages 60 and older, and $3 for other adults.

  • The Village outdoor swimming pool is open from 1 to 7 p.m. daily except for Tuesdays at 370 Village Commons Blvd.

  • The Williams Drive outdoor pool is open from 1 to 7 p.m. daily except for Mondays at 3201 Williams Drive.

The center's indoor pool is open from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturdays. A day pass is $5.

  • The Garey Park splash pad is open from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily at 6450 RM 2243. Entrance fees are $2 for residents and $4 for nonresidents. The pad has 28 water features, including a water mill.

  • Three free city splash pads are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at 1109 Blue Ridge Drive, 816 S. Main St. and 1707 San Jose St.

  • Blue Hole Park, with free swimming and wading in the San Gabriel River, is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 100 Blue Hole Park.

  • Leander has an outdoor municipal pool and a splash pad in Robin Bledsoe Park, 601 Bagdad Road. The pool is open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and from noon to 7 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. It is closed on Mondays. Admission is $2 for ages 17 and younger and for seniors ages 55 and older, and $3 for other adults. The splash pad is free and open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

  • Hutto offers the free Glenwood splash pad, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at 101 Fishbaugh Lane.

  • Taylor has an outdoor municipal pool at the Doris Roznovak Aquatic Center, open from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 to 8 p.m. Sundays at 1600 Sycamore St. It is closed on Mondays. Admission is $2 for children ages 4-12 and seniors ages 60 and older, and $3 for other adults. A free splash pad is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at 400 N. Main St.

  • Williamson County's Quarry splash pad is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays at the Williamson County Southwest Regional Park, 3005 County Road 175 in Leander. Admission is $2 per person, and only credit cards are accepted. Features include a slide, a waterfall and water cannons all surrounded by a natural rock area.

  • Lake Georgetown has a swimming beach at Russell Park at 2101 County Road 262 in Georgetown.

Where can people swim or splash in Liberty Hill?

Liberty Hill opened a new pool this summer and has one splash pad.

  • The Liberty Hill Swim Center pool is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays at 255 County Road 200. It is closed on Mondays. Features include a children's area and lap lanes. Admission is $3 for ages 17 and under, $2 for seniors ages 55 and older and veterans, and $4 for other adults.

  • The free Wetzel Park splash pad is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at 821 Loop 332.
