Pop-up store in Grove City outlets shows off local artists' products

Nov. 21—SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP — For giftgivers, the holiday season is a time to give gifts to those you care about the most.

For crafters, it can be the most profitable time of the year for their products. For many people with homemade products, the holiday season can make or break their entire financial year.

Luckily for both groups, Grove City Premium Outlets has welcomed a pop-up store, featuring locally made products from more than 35 vendors, for the last seven years.

Philson and Friends Artisanal Wares, located in Suite 1230, has displays set up with unique crafts.

"We allow local artists and local businesses to sell their products to a wider market while they don't have to be there," co-owner Amy Philson said. "It gives them a space to put their products and an audience for them."

The store began as a way to help give local artists a way to sell their products outside of just craft shows and markets. Amy and her husband, Eric, teamed up with other local businesses they met at craft shows while selling their maple syrup.

"This is a place where some of the most talented people we can find, who make some incredible things, can put their stuff in front of half a million people that walk through our store," said Eric. "It's not just a flea market environment. We are into high end artisanal wares."

The shop features tons of homemade products, such as clocks, bird houses, decor, pet supplies and jewelry.

The store opened during October and will remain open through December. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

The shop is also always looking for products to sell next year. Any local artist interested can contact them at philsonandfriends@gmail.com or they can stop by the store at any time.
