Pop's Family Restaurant Temporarily Closes

MILFORD, CT — The owners of Pop's Family Restaurant at 134 Old Gate Lane announced that the eatery will briefly close its doors to allow for a deep cleaning of the restaurant.

The restaurant, which has been a city institution for more than 25 years, announced the news this weekend. "In an abundance of caution due to the alarming increase in COVID-19 cases nationwide and in our own town of Milford, CT, we believe it is in the best interest of our patrons and staff to temporarily close our doors for elevated cleaning," the owners said on social media.

"We are confident this will contribute to the continued safety of all who come through our doors. While we will miss seeing all your (masked) faces from Sunday, November 15th through Wednesday, November 18th, we hope to find you healthy and hungry on Thursday, November 19th when we will again reopen our doors. Going forward, we will regularly implement additional safety and cleaning measures such as the use of ENVIROPRO in our establishment for extra sanitizing," the owners added.

"While dining at Pops, we want you to think less about COVID-19 and more about ordering bacon with your eggs or french fries with your burger. We hope these measures will help with that. We want to thank our staff for their continued patience during these difficult times and you, our patrons, for your continued trust and loyalty. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Thursday, November 19th."

Numerous patrons commented on the post and thanked the restaurant for being proactive and taking additional safety measures.
