Beer and whiskey battered onion rings: The dish is listed for $9 and comes with ranch and smoked Thousand Island dressing.

Buffalo chicken loaded fries: The dish features fries topped with smoked chicken, pickled jalapeños, buffalo sauce, queso and ranch for $12.

Poutine: Listed for $14, the Canadian-inspired dish includes meat, fries, garlic white cheddar cheese curds, Left Hand Stout gravy, a smoked garlic aioli, bacon and scallions.

“It's so different than anybody else's,” White said.

Traditionally, he said, the dish includes smoked brisket. Due to supply chain issues, it currently features pulled pork.

California burrito: The burrito will typically feature brisket chimichurri, though White said the restaurant has used pulled pork chimichurri as a substitution while brisket is out of stock. The burrito, which comes with one side for $13, also includes fries, white cheddar cheese, pico de gallo and more.

“It's been taking off,” White said.

Chicken and waffles: The $13 meal includes waffles with blueberry or regular maple bourbon syrup. Customers can top the waffle with either Nashville hot or hot honey garlic chicken tenders.

Fried chicken sandwiches: Once available only for lunch, both fried chicken sandwiches are now available all day, White said. Both are listed for $12.

“They were so popular that we've added them to the all-day menu,” White said.

Horseshoes: Dac’s Smokehouse added two new horseshoes to its menu, though White said the options are “definitely not traditional.”

Customers can find an open-faced and a mac and cheese horseshoe – along with Dac’s Original Horseshoe – each for $14.

“(The mac and cheese horseshoe was) one of the most popular specials that we run. People just love it,” White said. “It's just very unique. I've never seen it in any other restaurant before, and it's just absolutely delicious.”

Partnering with local businesses

White said Dac’s Smokehouse partnered with Tipsy’s after trying the desserts. Recently, the restaurant offered a cookie butter banana pudding from the business.

“Everything was so good that we just kind of wanted to partner with her and come up with some new, creative ideas,” White said.

In the future, White said, Dac’s will also be working with Musselman Meats for sausages.

What happened to original dishes on the menu?

Dac’s Smokehouse has also added baked beans and a pineapple habanero sauce to its menu.

White said the restaurant is continuing to offer popular appetizers, such as the barbecue nachos and crab Rangoon dip.

The menu also features all of the previously offered burgers, along with the new Smokehouse Barbecue Burger. Four of the restaurant’s former mac and cheese dishes, plus the new flavor, are also available.

One of the items no longer at the restaurant is steak. As costs have continued to rise, White said, the dish “priced itself out of the menu.” Some of the appetizers, such as the flatbreads and steak fajita nachos, were also removed and replaced.

From White’s perspective, though, the new menu items will win customers over.

“What I always do is try to get something that's even better than what they were ordering before,” White said. “And I think that, as a team, we really knocked it out of the park with this one.”
