BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A popular food truck that has been a staple in Tigerland that serves its award-winning southern mac and melts is opening a new restaurant in Baton Rouge.
The Big Cheezy will be opening a permanent restaurant that will be located on LSU’s campus.
“We have been looking for a location for over a year,” said Blaize Romancik, owner/operator of The Big Cheezy. “We wanted a spot around LSU’s campus, but not just any location, one that matches our company’s vibe. Our concept is not a strip mall kind of concept.”
Some of the most popular items on their menu include mac n’ cheezy, crawfish mac n’ cheezy, a large basket of fries, Philly steak, loaded fries, buffalo chicken, cheezy mac, mac’ n’ juicy, cajun crawfish and the big cheezy.
Their menu also includes their signature melts, mac and cheez selections, mac and cheez sandwiches, and a selection of French fries.
According to Romancik, the restaurant’s expected opening date will be in early to mid-March.
“We need a location with character, said Romancik. “More importantly our business has been built around LSU and we wanted to thank all of our loyal customers with a location on LSU’s campus.”
