Popular Frozen Pizza Brand Issues Recall Over Possible Contamination

Home Run Inn Frozen Foods, headquartered in Woodridge, IL issued a recall for 13,099 pounds of pizzas. 

The recall was prompted after a customer sent in a complaint about finding metal in a frozen meat pizza product, according to the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The official statement reads, "Home Run Inn Frozen Foods, a Woodridge, Ill. establishment, is recalling approximately 13,099 pounds of frozen meat pizza product that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically metal, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today." 

Make sure to check your freezers as the recalled pizza was produced on June 6, 2022.

They feature a best buy date of December 3, 2022, with the establishment number "EST. 18498-A" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Within the FSIS statement, they noted: "There have been no confirmed reports of injuries or adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider."

Another recent recall includes the protein shake maker Lyons Magnus, which recently expanded to nearly 400 products.
