Popular Massachusetts beach ranked among top 10 in the Northeast
A popular beach on the North Shore of Massachusetts has been ranked among the top 10 sand and sea attractions in the Northeast.
USA Today recently published its annual list of the 10 best beaches in the Northeast for summer 2023, and only two New England beaches made the cut.
Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester checked in at seventh on the list.
“This popular beach is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and sandcastle building,” USA Today wrote of Good Harbor. “The beach also offers picturesque views of the iconic Thacher Island Twin Lights and small islands off the shore that you can walk to at low tide.”
Mohegan Bluffs in New Shoreham, Rhode Island, edged out Good Harbor Beach, ranking sixth on the list.
“The Mohegan Bluffs are towering cliffs rising 200 feet above the ocean. If you don’t mind descending 141 steps down a steep wooden staircase, you will be rewarded with spectacular seaside landscapes and a secluded beach,” USA Today wrote. “Located on Block Island off the coast of Rhode Island, this picturesque spot is known for its pristine sandy shores, crystal-clear waters, and unique rock formations.”
Surprisingly, none of the beautiful beaches on Cape Cod and the Islands landed on the list.
Ocean City Beach in Ocean City, New Jersey, was crowned the top beach in the Northeast.
