Popular North Myrtle Beach pancake house sets reopening date after fire — what we know

The Golden Griddle Pancake House in North Myrtle Beach will reopen on Jan. 19, after a fire damaged the site.

The classic breakfast joint, located at 508 Main St., caught on fire on Jan. 9. The blaze started with an outdoor neon sign and spread into the attic area and kitchen, The Sun News reported. Firefighters were able to put out the flames before it spread further.

The Golden Griddle previously closed at the end of November for remodeling and cleaning. It announced on social media it would reopen Jan. 12, but the fire pushed that date back by a week.

“Although damage was very minimal, we will need to take the next week to get everything cleaned and back in place,” a Facebook post from the restaurant said.
