The 31st annual Folsom Renaissance Faire returns to the Sacramento area this weekend with jousting, juggling and storytelling.

The two-day interactive outdoor event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 and between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24 at Folsom City Lions Park in Folsom. At least 800 performers will bring Shakespeare’s London to life with costumes and performances, according to the Folsom medieval attraction.

“Folsom Renaissance Faire offers you a chance to visit the days of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth I,” Folsom Renaissance Faire wrote on its website. “Lose yourself in the magic and merriment of the Renaissance.”

The main event will feature authentic jousting on horseback from riders across the U.S., Europe and Canada, according to the Folsom faire. Food and drinks will be available, including turkey legs to get eventgoers in the medieval spirit.

Nearly 80 different arts and craft sellers will be at the two-day event with ceramics, clothes, swords and jewelry.
