A popular Rock Hill brewery and eatery is making changes. What we know now
Legal Remedy Brewing will make changes in Rock Hill, and will be closed for two weeks.
The brewery and food spot in the downtown area posted on its Facebook page Wednesday that a new leader will take over much of the operations side.
“We are handing the reins to a new team that is as passionate about real beer and real food as we are,” the post reads.
Long-time brewer Zach McNeely will still make beer and will be in charge of brewing operations. Mark Murphy will take over the pub, food truck and pizza setup.
“In order to make this work as smoothly as possible, we will be closing for two weeks for staff training, new menu development, and some new stuff we are sure you will love,” the post reads. “When we reopen, you can be sure that your favorite beer and food will be right here waiting for you, along with some great new stuff, our fantastic beer, and lots of new friends.”
Legal Remedy started what has become a trend in new breweries in the area when it opened on Oakland Avenue in Rock Hill. The original team that began craft brewing as friends in Fort Mill bought property in Rock Hill and converted it to a brewpub. Expansion since included the food truck and other sites.
Now the area has more than a dozen breweries that participate in the YoCo Brew Trail each year. Some locations have opened multiple sites. Others are still planned, like the Middle James Brewing Company addition expected with redevelopment of the city’s former power plant downtown.
