Another national name may be coming to the Market Square Shopping Center with hints of Connors Steak & Seafood restaurant as the latest tenant.

J. Michael Conner, president and CEO of the restaurant chain, told the Tallahassee Democrat the company was in "the light stages of negotiating a lease on this particular place."

"We are kind of down to the finish line on this thing," he said in a message to the Democrat. "I do expect it to go through but it has not as of yet."

If the deal goes through, Connors will be the latest large tenant to be named at Market Square that's undergone a top-down renovation over the last several years. REI Co-Op opened its doors late last year.

Connors has two Florida locations in Fort Myers and Sarasota, along with locations in Huntsville, Alabama, Franklin and Knoxville, Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky.

The lunch menu ranges from $15 to $18.
