Popular Tri-Cities plant shop gets 2nd location just in time for holiday shopping

Pasco’s Little Plant Shop has only been open for a year and a half, but the store is such a hit that they’re already expanding.

Owner Jose Chavez hosted a soft opening for the store’s second location in Richland last weekend, where they’ll be adding a little green to The Parkway.

He hopes to bring something new to the area, while staying true to the original shop.

“We’re really excited to be opening this new location,” Chavez said. “Everything is a little different, we’re going with a different vibe. At the other shop everything is white and neutral, here it’s dark green. I’m trying to make it a totally different story even though it’s the same store.”

With dedicated space for workshops, the popular classes will be moving to the Richland location. Previous workshops have included topics such as repotting, caring for houseplants and even making Kokedama (also known as Japanese moss balls).

Chavez also plans to have sales to kick off the holiday shopping season and Small Business Saturday.

They get new plants in weekly, with regular posts to their Facebook page about inventory updates.

“We’ve seen how much people love our Pasco location, we just want them to see everything we’ve done here,” he said.

Chavez hopes shoppers will stop by and check out the new location. They’re at 709 The Parkway, next to Peacock Roasting Company and near Frost Me Sweet.

They carry everything from common houseplants to rare varieties, as well as planters and pots. Little Plant Shop also offers consultations for homes and offices.

“You can expect the best plants in Tri-Cities, the best customer service you can get and plants, plants and more plants,” he said.

The Little Plant Shop’s Pasco is at 3315 W. Court St., in the shopping center with Goodwill.

He expects both locations to have similar hours to begin with, Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., but may adjust the Richland hours later depending on shoppers.
