Popular Wilmington wing restaurant to close by the end of the month
This weekend, a popular wing restaurant announced on social media that they’d be closing at the end of the month.
“We just want you to know that this decision wasn't made lightly,” read the post on the Fu Wangz Facebook page. “We've got big dreams and other exciting opportunities calling our name.”
The family-owned restaurant has a storefront at 2105 Carolina Beach Road that opened in late 2015/early 2016. They specialize in wings, with more than 40 sauce combinations, and for take-out and delivery. The menu also includes burgers, sandwiches, salads and more.
“Yup, it's the end of an era, and we're feeling all the feels,” said the post.
The owners added that their remaining days open (which are typically Tuesday through Friday) will be a farewell tour -- “but with sauce-drenched fingers instead of guitars. Get ready to have your taste buds wowed like never before.”

The owners are also encouraging their customers to continue supporting local restaurants and businesses in the community.
“We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. You've made our wings fly high, our hearts full, and our kitchen a place of delicious chaos,” they said. “We've laughed together, swapped sauce recommendations, and created memories that will go down in wing history.”
