Elotés Restaurant has grown in popularity since professional builder Daniel Vasquez decided to turn his passion for food into a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Wolfforth in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We decided to go ahead and start to build and this is what we came up with - a concept with corn and tacos - and just kind of launched from there," Vasquez said.

Now, 13 months later and with a growing family, Vasquez hopes to pass his project along to someone else with a passion for restaurant entrepreneurship.

The restaurant at 602 Donald Preston Drive No. #104 is up for sale, and Vasquez is looking for a new owner with a vision.

The local, family-owned restaurant has been offering gourmet tacos, a variety of roasted corn, aguas frescas, and more, all personally crafted in coordination with Vasquez and their chef.

But Vasquez, a professional builder, said it's time to move on and focus on other business while raising his growing family.

“We have four children now - a 16-year-old daughter, a 14-year-old daughter, a four-year-old son and a two-year-old son,” Vasquez said. “We have one son - due in September - and the restaurant business takes a lot of your time. There's no way that we'd be able to concentrate on our family and the restaurant at the same time.”

He added: "That would be a very tough balancing act so, our best option was to just put it on the market."

The restaurant is 2,200 square feet, and features an additional 1,700 square feet of patio space. The new owner would have to sign a new lease with the landlord, Vasquez said.

“We just hope for the new owners come in and be a positive influence on the community, the community out here is great,” Vasquez said.

Vasquez added that, despite staffing issues all restaurant owners faced during the pandemic, they were able to maintain operations and have what he says is a good staffing situation now.

Vasquez said that if the new business owner is interested in starting a totally different concept, they can do that, too.

Elotés will remain open serving recipes from their menu during the interim period. More information on the restaurant can be found on their website at eloteseatswtx.com.
