Popular WTAE-TV Reporter-Anchor Leaving Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA - WTAE-TV anchor and reporter Jackie Cain is leaving the station and the city to join KSTP-TV in Minneapolis. Cain announced the move Wednesday ini a Facebook post.

“After 5+ amazing years doing my dream job in my hometown, I’m heading to the Twin Cities to join the ABC affiliate KSTP-TV and their weeknight anchor team!” the post stated. “Thank you so much to all of my amazing colleagues at WTAE, the viewers, my friends and family for supporting me over the past few years and as I take this new step in my career!”

Cain, who was raised in Elizabeth, is an honors graduate of West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media. She worked as an intern at WTAE-TV before being hired at WTOV-TV in Steubenville, Ohio. After working there as a reporter and anchor, she returned to WTAE-TV in April 2013.

“We could not be more pleased with the addition of Jackie Cain to our evening news team,” KSTP news director Anne Wittenborg said in a statement. “Jackie is looking forward to being a part of our community and excited to join Paul Folger, Dave Dahl, Joe Schmit and Leah McLean on the air.”

Cain the the second prominent WTAE-TV personality to depart the station this month. Meteorologist Ray Petelin announced via Facebook that the WTAE-TV had severed ties with him.
