Porch collapses as fire blazes back of multi-family home in Jamaica Plain
Fierce flames collapsed the back porch of a two and a half story home in Jamaica Plain Friday afternoon, according to fire officials.
The Boston Fire Department says they responded to 83 Mendon Street just before 6:00 p.m. and found heavy flames on the rear porch.
Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire on all three floors but a part of the back deck collapsed under the fire.
Companies will be performing an extensive overhaul, according to fire officials.
No one was injured during the fire but 4 people have been displaced.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
