Porch Pirates Strike Millbrae Homes, Sheriff's Office Says

Peninsula residents beware of package thieves appearing more prevalent this time of year.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Bah humbug. Perhaps preying off the time of year, porch pirates pillaged two places Monday between 3:15-3:30 p.m. in Millbrae, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

One was at a home on the 400 block of Broadway, and the other is located on the 500 block of Bayview Avenue.

Two unknown suspects working together will face theft and conspiracy charges when officers catch up to them. The first is described as a white female in her 20s or 30s, wearing a grey jacket, with fur on the hood, blue jeans and white shoes. The other is defined as also a young white male with an average build, wearing a black baseball hat, grey hooded sweatshirt with white pull strings, blue jeans and dark colored shoes. He was seen smoking a cigarette, pulling away in a green-colored Saturn station wagon in its early 2000's.

Both thefts occurred within minutes of each other. Sheriff’s deputies have security footage and photographs of the suspects committing the crimes.

Porch pirates have become so prevalent, the city of Campbell has established a bait program to seize the suspects conducting the thievery by tracking the items taken.

Anyone who can identify these suspects or has information leading to these suspects' arrests
is encouraged to contact Sgt. Dan Guiney of the Millbrae Police Bureau at 650-259-2399 or via
email at dguiney@smcgov.org. One can also call the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Witness Line at 800-547-2700.
