PorchRokr and its thousands of music fans just one event this weekend in Greater Akron

This weekend promises to be another busy one in Greater Akron.

Music will fill the air in Akron's Highland Square.

And those Flying Squirrels from Richmond, Virginia are at Canal Park.

But the National Weather Service says you might have to keep an eye to sky and dodge a raindrop or two Saturday evening with a better chance for widespread rain and storms on Sunday.

Here's three things going on in Greater Akron this weekend.

Highland Square PorchRokr

You'll be hard pressed to find a musical genre that is not to your liking this weekend in Akron.

The Highland Square Neighborhood Association's 10th PorchRokr free music and art festival will bring thousands of music fans to a nearly hundred-acre swath of Akron on Saturday.

Musical artists will appear on stages big and small throughout the neighborhood.

And of course mostly on porches.

There will be exhibits set up with food vendors along with Highland Square's regular merchants.

RubberDucks at Canal Park

The Akron RubberDucks have a weekend homestand against the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

While they will be playing baseball on the field at Canal Park on Saturday, it will be a football themed night for fans.

The minor league team will be honoring "the future Super Bowl LVII Champions" that hopefully will be from Cleveland.

The team will be giving away former Browns player Eric Metcalf Bobbleheads to the first 1,000 fans.

Akron Jewish Family Festival

The second annual Akron Jewish Family Festival will be held Sunday at the Anshe Sfard Revere Road Synagogue.

The festival will include activities for families along with food and music.

The Rogers Park Band, billed as America's Only Hassidic Folk Rock Band, is scheduled to perform at the festival.

The event will be held in the synagogue's parking lot at 646 N. Revere Rd.
