PORT CLINTON - The City of Port Clinton was selected to receive an OSS Solid Waste District, Competitive Funding Grant of $7134.75 in April 2022.

This competitive grant allowed the city to purchase additional UltraSite 6-foot Extra Heavy Duty Picnic Tables made with recycled plastic. Due to availability, the tables recently arrived and have been assembled, ready for the 2023 season.

Receiving this grant allows the city the ability to make improvements to three separate facilities (Lakeview Park, Waterworks Parks, and West End Park).  The city remains steadfast in its commitment to improve its facilities in an environmentally friendly way.

The city has an ongoing process of updating all of the picnic tables throughout the city parks. The City Administration decided to replace the existing with ones made from post-consumer products. In addition, in disposing of the traditional picnic tables we have made every effort to recycle as much as possible. The long-term goal is to have every picnic table in the city make from post-consumer products.
