Port Hueneme celebrates 75th anniversary with parade, street fair

Hundreds flocked to the streets of Port Hueneme Saturday to celebrate the beachfront city's 75th anniversary.

The party kicked off with a 10 a.m. parade along Surfside Drive. A street fair kept the celebration going into the late afternoon at Hueneme Beach Park, where visitors could enjoy food trucks, classic cars, a beer garden and live entertainment.

A pop-up museum showcased the city's history before and after its incorporation in 1948. The former township once stretched across the Oxnard Plain to the border with Los Angeles County and reached as far north as the Santa Clara River.
