A Port Washington High School technician was charged with multiple felonies Friday in connection with possession of child pornography.

William Miley was charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court with three felony counts of possession of child pornography.

The Port Washington-Saukville School District emailed families to inform them of Miley's arrest. The arrest was made off school grounds.

Miley was placed on administrative leave and no longer has access to campus or school technology, according to the district's statement.

At this time, the district stated they do not believe that the alleged criminal activities involved any Port Washington-Saukville students, or that Miley engaged in any inappropriate behavior toward students, according to the statement.

If convicted, he faces up to dozens of years in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. He was due in court for a bail hearing on Friday.

According to the criminal complaint:

On May 10, 2022, a social media platform notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that on May 6 a username uploaded two files of child pornography.

Subpoenas showed that one of the IP addresses was associated with a Wisconsin internet provider. Detectives spoke with Miley, who stated that this address was accessible through the publicly available Wi-Fi at Port Washington High School.

Search warrants were obtained for Miley's residence, his person and offices at Port Washington High School, where numerous electronics were seized.

Miley told detectives that he has gone through "spurts of pornographic addiction," and particularly liked images of girls between the ages of 14 and 17.

Miley said he used internet accounts to support his addiction, but would delete them after he "calmed down."

"I've done some stupid things and mistakes I then regret. So I've tried my hardest to stay away from that stuff. It's almost like being addicted to drugs in that way."

Miley said he did not recall the email address used for the account associated with the CyberTip, but that the account name used fit the naming protocol he would create and use to trade pornography.

When shown the two videos that were the subject of the tip, he stated that he could recall them specifically.
