Portage County inspections: One restaurant has 12 violations, another receives 8

The following are the latest results of Portage County Health Department inspections on licensed food establishments and other types of businesses, which the Stevens Point Journal reports monthly.

Plover

  • Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers, 1215 Commons Circle: Oct. 12: Pre-inspection: No violations.

Stevens Point

  • Brokogi, 108 Division St.: Sept. 12: Pre-inspection: Two violations: Threshold piece missing at walk-in cooler door; restroom ventilation fans not working.

  • Culver's of Stevens Point, 5346 U.S. 10 E.: Oct. 2: No violations.

  • Dilly Dahl Deli, 2300 B Strongs Ave.: Oct 3: Pre-inspection: No violations.

  • Father Fats Public House, 945 Clark St.: Oct 24: 12 violations: Apple puree is from an unapproved source; shell eggs stored over ready-to-eat foods in upright cooler (corrected during inspection); date markings missing from several ready-to-eat foods held in refrigerators; consumer advisory on menu missing disclosure statement for foods that may be served raw or undercooked; test kit for sanitizer expired; wall-mounted potato cutter dirty; handwashing sink used as dump sink for liquid waste and has no paper towels or handwashing signs; open boxes of single-service food articles stored on floor in basement; fly sticky tape over main food prep station in kitchen (corrected during inspection); light fixture above dish machine at bar not working; flies seen in kitchen; ceiling vents and adjacent kitchen surfaces dirty.

  • Firehouse Subs, 200 Division St. Suite I: Oct. 27: One violation: Employees working in food preparation and cooking area without hair restraints (corrected during inspection).

  • International Food Creations at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 1015 Reserve St.: Oct. 4: Pre-inspection: No violations.

  • Kentucky Fried Chicken, 327 N. Division St.: Oct. 11: One violation: Handwashing sink in front service area drains slowly.

  • Kuby's Bar & Grill, 2408 Division St.: Oct. 26: No violations.

  • Perkins Family Restaurant and Bakery, 143 Division St.: Sept. 19: Eight violations: Employee handling ready-to-eat food with bare hands; interior surfaces of ice machine dirty; interior basin of the freezers at main prep and cook line dirty; employee washing grapes in handwashing sink at wait station; wiping cloths used for wiping surfaces stored on counters (corrected during inspection); thermometer missing from reach-in prep cooler No. 1; paper towel dispenser at employee handwashing sink in kitchen does not work and employees using paper towel roll; flooring at fryers on main cook's line dirty.

  • Point After Pub & Grill, 801 Second St.: Oct. 17: Two violations: Dish machine not providing sanitizer in final rinse cycle; test kit for monitoring sanitizer concentration expired.

  • Rock "N" Roll Cafe, 2801 Stanley St.: Oct. 12: Four violations: Consumer advisory on menu missing disclosure statement for burgers, steaks and eggs; test kit to monitor sanitizer concentration is expired; hot water not available at handwashing sink in the kitchen; single-service portion cups used to dispense soup base are stored directly in food.

  • The Waters Pub & Pier, 736 Old Wausau Road: Oct. 18: No violations.
