Portage offers COVID vaccine clinics to children ages 6 months and 4 years

Parents in Portage County looking to get their young children vaccinated against COVID-19 now have that option through the Portage County Health District.

The health department will begin hosting clinics for children between 6 months and 4 years on Tuesday at sites throughout the county.

The clinics will be offering the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Masks are required for those 2 and older, except those with medical exemptions.

The health district holds childhood immunization clinics at various locations throughout the county. All childhood vaccines are available at these clinics, including the COVID-19 vaccine first doses through booster doses for children 6 months and older.

Clinics are offered in the following locations:

  • Portage County Health District, 705 Oakwood Street, second floor, Ravenna, from 8 a.m. to noon each Wednesday. Appointments are needed, call 330-296-9919, ext. 135 to schedule.

  • Portage County WIC, 449 S. Meridian St., Ravenna, from 2 to 4 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month. No appointment is needed.

  • Windham Renaissance Center, 9005 Wilverne Drive, Windham, from 2 to 4 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month. No appointment is needed.

  • Kent City Health Department, 201 E. Erie St., Suite G, Kent, from 2 to 5 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month. Appointments are needed, call 330-296-9919, ext. 135 to schedule.
