Portillo’s bringing Chicago-style hot dogs, beef sandwiches to Alliance shopping center

Chicago-based Portillo’s is officially bringing its hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches to Fort Worth.

The restaurant chain applied for a Fort Worth building permit in May, but the company was mum on publicly announcing its newest Texas location. Portillo’s officially acknowledged its Fort Worth location in a Tuesday announcement.

Located between Interstate 35W and U.S. Highway 287, the Fort Worth Portillo’s will open at 2491 North Tarrant Parkway. The restaurant will be just minutes from Alliance Town Center.

The 7,800-square-foot restaurant will accommodate seating for 180 guests inside, and another 50 on the outdoor patio. There will also be double drive-thru lanes, the company said.

No official opening date has been set for the Fort Worth location, but the building permit states that construction will get underway later this month and finish in December.

Portillo’s is known for its Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, burgers and shakes.

The first Portillo’s in Texas opened in January in The Colony at 752 Grandscape Blvd. An Arlington location at 4200 S. Cooper St. is in the works, as is a restaurant in Allen at 1955 Central Expressway.
