Portland Timbers announce new beer patio ahead of Saturday’s season opener

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Portland Timbers have announced a new standing-room-only beer patio open to all gameday attendees for the upcoming MLS season.

The field-level “Pub Beer Patio,” located at the south end of Providence Park, will offer beers from 10 Barrel and Widmer Brothers Brewing. The stadium’s first-ever standing-room only section will also feature “the World’s Smallest Dive Bar,” furnished with dive-bar staples like a dart board and pool cues.

Timbers CEO Heather Davis said that the team is working with 10 Barrel Brewing on the execution of the new 700-person-capacity beer patio.

“Adding the Pub Beer Patio to our list of fan experience options gives us the chance to offer fans a totally unique and one of a kind matchday perspective,” Davis was quoted as saying in a press release. “A top priority of ours with the creation of this space is to make it lively and accessible to all fans.”

Outside the park, the 10 Barrel’s Portland Pub on Flanders Street will offer game-day specials like $2 beers immediately following every Timbers goal, post-game parties and discounts for season-ticket holders.

The Timbers will open the 2024 season at home against the Colorado Rapids on Feb. 24. First kick is set for 7:30 p.m.
