Portsmouth police looking to identify Dollar General robbery suspect

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth police are trying to identify a suspect in a Dollar General Robbery that occurred on Feb. 4.

Around 3 p.m., at the Dollar General located at 2864 Airline Blvd., a man attempted to steal items in a shopping cart and assaulted the clerk while attempting to flee the store, police said.

The suspect is described as a man between 50-60 years of age, 5’6”-5’11” and unknown weight.

He was last seen wearing a black beanie hat, white shirt, blue pants, and red and white shoes. The suspect was possibly driving a black minivan, police said.
