Why do you claim Republicans don't have a plan when they clearly do? Everyone knows what Republicans stand for: controlling our borders, properly funding and supporting police, improving broken public schools, freedom from authoritarian government. Anyone paying attention knows what Republicans stand for.

There's a reason why reason why the president's approval rating is in the 30% range. There's also a reason why people don't trust the mainstream media, including your newspaper. As anyone paying attention can see that your editorials are just more of the same — political propaganda. As far as the "toothpaste out of the tube," you might take notice that a tube of toothpaste now cost $10.

Remember Scott's tax plan

Perhaps the harshest criticism of Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott’s 11-point plan to “rescue” America came from Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell: “Let me tell you what would not be a part of our agenda: We will not have as part of our agenda a bill that raises taxes on half the American people and sunsets Social Security and Medicare within five years.” A majority of Florida voters elected Rick Scott, which means they voted for his agenda. Who knew all those voters, mostly Republicans, wanted to pay higher income taxes and terminate Social Security and Medicare? If only the rest of Florida voters will remember that plan when Scott comes up for reelection.

Senator has a point on taxes

It is incomprehensible that an estimated 57% of the citizens in our country pay no income tax. While it is true that we should support the poorest of poor and help them with a leg up, everyone else should have some investment in our country. When you invest some of your hard earned income towards taxes you tend to care how and where your money is spent. You do have “Skin in the Game.” I believe this would help lead to a more fiscally responsible system and help to stop government waste and strengthen America. Our current tax system is creating an “I don’t care, it’s not my money” attitude. It is our money that runs this country, not the government’s. I agree with Sen.Scott.
