Post office delivers poor customer service

The outgoing mailbox where we pick up our mail was damaged. After not receiving any mail for two weeks, my wife went to the Sandy Creek office to inquire. They told her they would not be delivering any mail until further notice. They also informed her to go to the Yarborough office, which is eight miles away, since they were no longer servicing our area.

After picking up our mail at the Yarborough office, it seems she was given the mail for the entire neighborhood which we returned.

I understand there's only one repairman for the entire city. One lady there told us she has been picking up her mail for two months.

What about people that don't have transportation? There needs to be a better way for us to get our mail in situations like this. This is poor customer service. I liked it better when they delivered to our homes. Currently we have a postal service lockbox.

El Paso Water, know your customers

One of the good things about achieving senior citizenship is discounts. I appreciate this. But sometimes it gets hard to apply for discounts. Everyone thinks going online is the way to make applications easier but some of seniors don't have computers or the computer skills required.

For example, I received a renewal notification for a discount with Environmental Service Division (ESD). It provides information to apply or reapply for a discount. It provides the website Elpasoesd.net/home/renew.htm. I opened the website. there was pages of information but nothing to do with EL Paso Senior/Disability Discount. So, I called  customer service. The pleasant young man told me there was a lot of problems with the website. Please try elpasotx.gov. Find ESD as a department. Then delve down to Public Services and Environmental Section. Yeah! It pulls up the application.

I fill out the required information. Get down to a section requesting an upload of a document that demonstrates my age. This is past my ability to do. Take a picture of my license and upload it by using the following five ways. I have no experience with any of them. I use AOL.

They've agreed to send me a hard copy. Come on ESD know your customer. I have been receiving this discount for eight years now. You have my information. It's on your computer. Am I still a customer? Oh, they offered, at my convenience, for me to drive down and fill out the application. Sheesh!

El Paso Water, where are your priorities?

I find it very interesting that the El Paso Water Utility can afford to dun us for the construction of a new building but can only scrape together enough funding to rebate $50 for 800 gallons of water saving toilets. You have wonder where their priorities are.
