Post Roe reality: Women as baby factories

Baby-making machines, post Roe reality

Well, ladies, are you happy to know you are now to become nothing more than a baby machine, run by the self-righteous Pro-Life group who really don't care about the product produced? The machine has been put in its place, expected to produce no matter what. God forbid the machine hiccups and spits out one of the LGBTQ anomalies. Machines have no feelings, no ability to think for themselves, no right to plan a future and no right to protect themselves.

Too often the product is truly discarded by the operators of this machine. This product, a baby, is on its own unloved, unclothed, uneducated, hungry, condemned to a life of hell. Who cares? Not the Pro-Lifers who insisted this product be produced and care not about providing for it. Yep, this is America ladies, the "Land of the Free."

The turtles should be priority

Most of you have read or seen on the news the issues at Loggerhead. I started volunteering there shortly after they moved from the house in 2007. People who have lived here awhile may remember Elenor Fletcher, better known as the "Turtle Lady." She would invite people to her house to educate them on turtles.

In my years there, we have had over 80 turtles at one time during the cold stun season. You rarely saw an empty tank. Most of us were volunteers but we worked together as a team to accomplish our mission statement of the health and welfare of sea turtles. Now we are in danger of losing that, because of the hostile environment, a lot of finger-pointing and no one is held accountable. We need to speak out for the turtles. People need to put their egos aside and get back to what we were meant to do, help sea turtles.

Gay youth need help, not hate

When will the hate-mongers and liars learn there’s no such thing as “grooming” a heterosexual child to become a homosexual? Sexuality cannot be changed. We are born that way and know this from an early age. When a kid knows he or she is "different,” it’s so important to have a parent, teacher or a group club at school to give a safe haven and help stop childhood suicides. There’s nothing wrong with providing a safe haven for gay kids and teens, if their parents aren’t providing this. And shame on parents who are unaccepting of their gay child.

What golf says of Trump's character

For those who play golf or are part of the golf industry, it has always been known that you can tell the true character of a person if they cheat at golf. In addition to the former president's legal cash settlements or obligations to pay fees for failure to produce business records, which is a reflection on his character, it has recently leaked out that "Pele" who played in the senior club championship at his golf club and posted scores of 68 and 70 well below his golfing ability. Were these scores because he teed off before the scheduled tee time? What do all of those of you who continue to back him think?
