Postino, the restaurant and bar known for its wine list and bruschetta boards, is finally opening a location in the West Valley.

Its ninth Valley restaurant will be part of an emerging dining district in Peoria where, according to Deputy City Manager Katie Gregory, the most common request from residents is more chef-driven, top tier restaurants.

“They see them in other communities, and they want to see them here. And they want those that are going to provide that fun and entertaining and exciting culinary experience,” she said during a city council meeting Tuesday.

The location will be part of a just-approved 2.66-acre mixed-used development between Peoria and developer, Common Bond Development, which is operating under the name CBDG Peoria LLC.

The project will be adjacent to the Peoria Sports Complex on the south side of West Paradise Lane, east of 83rd Avenue and west of 79th Avenue, near the P83 Entertainment District. The site is currently used as a parking lot for sporting events, according to Phoenix Business Journal.

In addition to Postino, the developer is expected to bring in two other restaurants, which have not been announced yet.

"We received a ton of requests from the west side community to bring Postino to Peoria, and this opportunity presented itself with an ideal team attached to it," Lauren Bailey, CEO and Co-Founder of Upward Projects, the restaurant group to which Postino belongs, told Phoenix New Times.

In a statement to the Business Journal, Jennifer Stein, Peoria economic development director added that: "This new destination dining district will be transformative for P83."

An opening date has yet to been announced.
