Watch suspects in high-speed chase toss bales of marijuana from truck

In a scene that sounds like it was ripped from the script of a "Cheech & Chong" movie, police in Arizona say suspects involved in a high-speed chase last week tossed large bales of marijuana from their vehicle during the pursuit — with the whole thing caught on a deputy's dashcam.

Footage released by the Pinal County Sheriff's Office over the weekend shows the suspects, Mario Perez-Paz, 43, and Juan Aguilar-Zavala, 21, throwing the pot bales from their truck on Interstate 10 in Casa Grande while traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph.

Eventually, police set up spike strips that successfully deflated both front tires of the truck, which came to a stop near Central Arizona College. Both men were taken into custody and charged with possession and conspiracy to transport marijuana for sale and unlawful flight.

The U.S. Border Patrol said their arrest led to a "drop house" in Mesa, where authorities found 20 Guatemalan and Mexican immigrants who were in the country illegally.

As for all that tossed weed (via KGUN9-TV):

Approximately five vehicles that were not involved with the carrying of marijuana stopped and grabbed the bales that were thrown from the vehicle. Due to the traffic conditions, deputies and DPS [Department of Public Safety] were not able to recover the bales. However, 374 pounds of marijuana was able to be recovered.
