Poway City Hall Closed To Public Due To COVID

POWAY, CA — Poway City Hall will be closed to the public starting Tuesday because of numerous COVID-19 cases among employees, officials said.

"We don't take this closure lightly," City Manager Chris Hazeltine said in a statement. "We are committed to balancing our public service responsibilities with the health and well-being of our employees."

City staff will be available by phone and email to assist residents.

City Hall will tentatively reopen the week of Jan. 17.

The Mickey Cafagna Community Center, Poway Center for Performing Arts and other city offices are not impacted by the closure, according to the city. The closure also does not affect critical services such as fire, law enforcement and public works.

Recreational programs and activities will continue as scheduled, including this weekend's Winter Festival at Poway Community Park.
