A new trailer for season 3 of Power Book II: Ghost has landed, possibly teasing a move across the pond. The third season of the crime drama will premiere on March 17, 2023 at midnight on the Starz app (or Lionsgate+ in the UK).

The new trailer shows Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) becoming more and more like his father James St. Patrick, as he gets sucked deeper into the crime underworld.

There also seems to be trouble ahead for Monet, played by Mary J. Blige. In the trailer Monet is heard saying: "I’m in charge now, so shit’s about to look different."

But later on in the trailer, Monet’s daughter Diana (LaToya Tonodeo) tells Tariq: "It’s Monet again. She’s always the problem." While Davis MacLean (Method Man) then warns him: "She has to go Tariq."

The trailer also sees the introduction of Noma, played by Caroline Chikezie, a new character who hails from London.

Noma's introduction may prove significant, as there have long been rumours of Power getting a fifth spin-off series that would be set in London.

In August, Kathryn Busby, Starz's President of Original Programming, was asked about the rumours in an interview, and while she didn't commit to anything, she didn't rule out the idea either.

"I am not at liberty to answer anything in that vein except to say what we love about Power is the potential to spin off and to spin off successfully which we have done," she said (via Deadline). "Which in theory, we would love to do again. I love that you're hearing it."

Ahead of season 3's release, Starz has already renewed the show for a fourth season. TVLine has also reported that the show has cast Being Mary Jane and Bel-Air star Michael Ealy in a series regular role for the fourth season.

Power Book II: Ghost airs on Starz in the US and streams on Lionsgate+ in the UK.
