Power restored in West Seattle after outage affecting thousands

Thousands of people were without power in West Seattle.

Seattle City Light said the outage affecting about 4,700 customers began at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday.

The utility said the outage was caused by a downed wire near California Avenue Southwest and Southwest Hudson Street.

Shortly after 6 a.m., power was restored to about 2,000 customers.

By 9 a.m., power had been restored to all but about 300 customers.
