Power went out in Jennings, Louisiana, as the intense wind and rain from Hurricane Delta lashed the area on Friday, October 9, reports said.
Video filmed by Twitter user @rogers_balin shows the moment power went out in Jennings as the hurricane passed through the area.
The National Hurricane Center reported that Delta made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane at around 6.00 pm CDT, warning of “damaging winds and a life-threatening storm surge" across southern Louisiana.
On October 7, Governor John Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the storm.
As of Saturday, October 10, the storm had been downgraded to a tropical depression and was moving northeast across northern Mississippi. Over 700,000 people are reported to be without power in the region. Credit: @rogers_balin via Storyful
