Powerball players in 5 states won at least $1M Monday — including someone in Kentucky

The Powerball jackpot has now ballooned to $1 billion after no winning ticket was sold for the latest drawing Monday night.

No ticket matched white balls 5, 8, 9, 17 and 41, alongside red ball 21 for Monday’s game. At that time, the jackpot stood at an estimated $900 million.

For the next drawing Wednesday, the billion-dollar jackpot will be the seventh largest in U.S. history and the third largest for Powerball, the Associated Press reports. The game’s cash prize stands at an estimated $516.8 million.

Still, according to Powerball results and the Kentucky Lottery, one winning ticket worth $1 million sold in Kentucky for Monday’s draw.
