PPS, other local school districts canceling Thursday classes due to continuing winter weather

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – School districts are still feeling the impacts of the ice storms that hit western Oregon over the last week, leading some to keep their doors closed on Thursday.

Portland Public Schools announced that there would be no classes on Thursday.

Beaverton School District announced that it would remain closed on Thursday due to several weather-related issues including burst pipes and downed trees.

Other area schools also announced that they will be either closed or have a delayed start on Thursday.

Portland Community College will be closed Thursday. No remote or in-person classes. Pacific University will also be closed, but classes may continue online.

Tigard-Tualatin School District will be closed Thursday.

Parkrose School District will be closed Thursday

Hillsboro Schools will be closed Thursday

Reynolds School District will be closed Thursday

Oregon City School District will be closed Thursday

David Douglas Schools will be closed Thursday

Centennial School District will be closed Thursday

Gresham-Barlow Schools will be closed Thursday

Sherwood School District will announce schedule at 5 a.m. Thursday.

Battle Ground Schools, Camas Schools and Vancouver Schools will begin two hours late with no AM preschool
