Practice your putts and drives inside when Pin High Golf opens in Norwalk this summer

Pin High Golf will bring an 8,000-square-foot facility to Norwalk, featuring a putting area and golf simulators.

The facility will be part of the Gregg Young Sports Campus in the Norwalk Central development, which when fully developed is expected to encompass housing, shopping, dining, outdoor trails, parks and an amphitheater.

According to the Pin High Golf Norwalk website, the facility is set to open in summer 2024. It will feature a full-service sports bar and “abundant televisions for all types of game day fun,” according to a news release from the city of Norwalk. Food will be available for order and pickup from the Mullets restaurant next door, which is expected to open this summer as well. Mullets has locations in Des Moines and Ankeny.

The Gregg Young Sports Campus in Norwalk will feature turf fields and indoor courts for multiple sports. It's part of the Norwalk Central development and is expected to draw youth sports tourism and be a recreational hub in the growing city south of Des Moines.

The facility will offer "eight top-rated Golfzon Golf Simulators for course play and driving range work,” the city's release says. “One simulator will be in a private room for parties, small gatherings, meetings and other group activities.”

The golf simulators use high-speed camera technology that watches the dimples on golf balls to accurately measure golf shots to the same degree of accuracy, whether it's a 320-yard drive or a 7-inch putt, the Pin High Golf website says.

Over 200 courses will be available, with settings from all over the world, according to the website. It takes an estimated hour per person to complete an 18-hole round, and patrons will be charged per hour per simulator bay, not per person. The website currently doesn't have more details on pricing.

“The City of Norwalk is beyond happy to welcome this new entertainment-based business and long-awaited amenity to our community,” said Hollie Zajicek, Norwalk's economic development director. “It’s another fantastic and high-quality addition to the Norwalk Central development and will provide a fun recreational activity for residents and visitors to Norwalk year-round.”
