Woman arrested in Prattville parking lot shooting

A shooting critically injured a woman Wednesday.

PRATTVILLE ‒ A woman is being held without bond in connection with a Sunday night shooting in a Prattville shopping center parking lot.

Angelica Renee Thomas, 36, of Prattville faces domestic violence, assault and reckless endangerment charges in the case, Police Chief Mark Thompson said. She is being held in the Autauga Metro Jail under no bond due to the domestic violence charge, he said.

The shooting happened about 7:40 p.m. in the parking lot of Premiere Place Shopping Center in the 1900 block of Cobbs Ford Road, said Thompson. Walmart is one of the anchor stores of the center.

It appears the shooting involved an incident of domestic violence, Thompson said. The male victim was in serious condition when taken to the hospital. Police did not release his name.

The man was shot "multiple" times in his "lower extremities," officials said.
