Can the Washington Commanders pull off the upset? The Commanders host the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday from FedEx Field in an all-important NFC East battle.

Heading into Sunday’s game, the Eagles are a touchdown favorite over the Commanders. Considering how things went for both teams in Week 2, the odds are no surprise.

These two rivals last played in January when the Eagles defeated Washington, 20-16, in a game more remembered for what happened afterward than the actual game.

Who wins?

There are reasons to be optimistic concerning Washington’s offense. But the Commanders cannot afford another start like the 22-0 deficit last week. Washington will move the ball on the Eagles. Wentz must avoid the big mistake, and considering this is an emotional game for him, that is a concern.

The Commanders’ defense is another story. There is no reason to believe they can limit Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and Philly’s offense. It will not be a blowout, but the Eagles find a way to win.

At times last week, the Commanders’ defense was a mess. That was vs. Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff, who is not a dual threat. With the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts a threat to run, this makes the inside run even harder to defend.

The Commanders’ linebackers and safeties will be challenged to fill on the run.
