A preliminary hearing in the capital murder case involving a former University of Alabama basketball player has been delayed, according to court records.

The hearing for Darius Miles, scheduled for Tuesday, has been moved to Feb. 21 before Tuscaloosa District Judge Joanne Jannik at the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

Miles, 21, was dismissed last month from the UA basketball team after his arrest.

Miles and Michael Lynn Davis, 20, are charged with capital murder in the Jan. 15 shooting death of 23-year-old Jamea Harris of Birmingham. The shooting occurred early Sunday morning on the Strip, a student-oriented business district of bars and restaurants near the Tuscaloosa campus. Harris was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when she was struck by a bullet, police said.

Investigators wrote in a court document that Miles admitted to providing the gun used in the fatal shooting, but Davis fired the weapon.

Miles and Davis are being held without bond at the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
