Coming out of Thursday’s preliminaries, Bartlesville High School’s girls swimming team stood in strong stead to challenge for one of the top three spots as a team in the Class 6A state championship meet in Edmond.

Eleven of the 12 Lady Bruin athletes qualified in either the A Finals or the B Finals.

But, the Bruin boys’ quest for a top three team showing took a strong hit when the 200 freestyle relay team failed to advance to the finals. The relay foursome suffered disqualification in Thursday’s prelims.‘Five of the Bruins’ eight-man contingent qualified as individuals in either the boys A Finals or B Finals.

The tourney wraps up Friday.
