Dec. 5—PRINSBURG — The Central Minnesota Christian boys basketball team earned its first victory of the season by beating Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 95-61 on Saturday.

Ethan Bulthuis, Ryan Harrington and Drew Duininck all had big games for the Bluejays.

Bulthuis had 31 points, 18 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocked shots. Harrington scored 26 points and Duininck had 17.

Lac qui Parle Valley dropped its season-opener, non-conference game to Morris/Chokio-Alberta at Morris.

"For the first game of the season in a tough place to play, I was very proud of how well we competed and gave ourselves a chance being down four with under four minutes to play," LQPV head coach Robyn Rademacher said. "We will take this experience and build on it moving forward."

The Community Christian School Eagles won the Coulee Chrsitian tournament Saturday after defeating Riverside in West Salem, Wisconsin.

The seniors led CCS to victory. Jonny Reid posted a team-high 12 points and Will Chapin and Ben Reinertson followed with 11 and 9.

Senior Mark Arnold earned Tournament MVP, Chapin earned All-Tournament honors, and Reinertson was recognized for outstanding sportsmanship.

Community Christian School won the Coulee Christian tournament, fueled by a 22-point performance by senior Sophia Bollig in the 54-51 victory over Riverside.

Bollig also notched team-highs in rebounds (9), steals (7) and blocks (2).

Bollig surpassed 2,000 career points on Friday when she scored 29 points in the Eagles' 54-53 victory over Mountaintop.

Bollig was the tournament MVP. Hope Reid was named an All-Team member. Grace Strom earned the Christian Character Team award.
