Prep boys basketball: Four players put BOLD over Minnewaska

Jan. 7—BIRD ISLAND — Four players, led by Max Marks, reached double figures for the BOLD boys basketball team in a 66-57 victory over Minnewaska Thursday at BOLD Elementary School.

Marks had 20 points for the Warriors on 5 of 9 shooting. He was also 9 of 9 from the free-throw line.

Ryan King had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Jack Gross added 12 points, four steals and a pair of blocks, and Ethan Sullivan came through with 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the victory.

BOLD is now 2-1 in the West Central Conference while Minnewaska is 0-2.

The Warriors play Renville County West at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Renville. The Lakers are host to Melrose at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Glenwood.

CMCS' Case Mulder led all scorers with 27 points, hitting four 3-pointers in the victory. Ethan Bulthuis (15), Caleb Vander Beek (14), Brayden Marcus (12) and Ben Van Eps (11) all finished in double figures.

Isaac Post led MACCRAY with 13 points, followed by 12 from Gavin Husman and 10 from Jordan Warne.

"They just shot from 3-point land a lot better," KMS head coach Matt Fragodt said. "They're tough to defend. So once they get hot, they are really hot."
