Prep boys golf roundup: La Grande places second at Ontario Invite

May 3—PAYETTE, Idaho — The La Grande boys team competed admirably at the Ontario Invite on Monday, May 2, placing second overall in the team standings. The match took place at Scotch Pines Golf Course, the host site of the 4A Special District 4 tournament.

Baker won the event with a combined score of 325, with La Grande just behind at 353. Ontario finished in third at 387.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Jack Sunderman, whose score of 86 was good for fifth overall in the individual standings. Tristen Shepherd and John Remily both scored 87.

Lucas Young tallied a 93 and Thomas Conklin rounded out La Grande's efforts with a 114.

Up next, La Grande will compete in its final regular season match of the season at Enterprise on May 6. The Tigers will then compete at the 4A Special District 4 tournament, which begins on May 9 and concludes on May 10.
