Sep. 17—SPICER — The Minnewaska girls cross-country varsity team had a strong outing at the New London-Spicer Invitational on Thursday.

Three Lakers finished in the top three to win the 13-team invitational at Little Crow Golf Course. Minnewaska, ranked fourth in Class A, had 51 points to beat second-place Morris/Chokio-Alberta, which had 96.

Eighth-graders Olivia Danielson and Lauren Ankeny placed first and second for Minnewaska. Danielson is ranked eighth in the state.
